Hello to all! After years of considering, I have finally decided to try my hand at finding. My first problem though is where to look. I have heard that black sand (and something else but can't remember what) is an indicator of where to look, but how good of an indicator and what other indicators are there? Would certain mineral deposits be good to look around? I live near the glacial boundary and I am trying to pin-point a good location to start looking. ANY help would be appreciated. Thanks

Look on the hard pan, and around boulders.....They act as a natural eddy, and will stop the flow of gold in front of them.....Any small creek/stream? that depends on how long it has been there....We don't have to much bedrock to look in, and on here.....So on top of the clay layer....anywhere the current slows down in a stream....Like the inside of a sandbar, right down on the hard pan....Good luck, hope this helps!
