I just wanted to welcome you all the Illinois gold forum. Feel free to discuss all things gold related, but we really like to hear about your Illinois gold topics.
Try to keep it clean and family friendly. No name calling or denigrating others any more so then you would do in person .

Thanks for building a prospector friendly site. It has been my opinion that Illinois Prospectors have the strongest skills to find gold. Now we have a site to prove it !

Found around 3/4 gram over at MMSF on Friday. Not a bad day. Bad back limited my finds ! Haven't cleaned my most recent Illinois Glacial gold from good old Central Illinois. Looking forward to the day when we get to stop traveling East to find gold. I think that day is getting closer. We need to lobby the Illinois parks to let us pan !

It was nice to meet you and the other Illinois Prospectors at MMSF last weekend. I had a good time. Tom wants me to come up to Watseka, says he has a hot spot. Kinda looking forward to the trip, but He's got to get permission first.

Again it was nice to meet everyone, hope we can get together again next year.

Watseka could be pretty good, it is right on the edge of the Iroquois moraine but there is only one way to find out .

Jeff,
I also wanted to welcome you to the Illinois Gold forum. Enjoyed meeting you and seeing Tom again. We all need to get out and pan soon !! Anytime you are heading out and need some company, let me know. I believe Jim will agree that our goal is to obtain as many gold bearing sites as possible here in good ole Illinois. Now that we have proven that gold exists in Illinois and it is chunky, we are increasing that effort with more confidence. I want to investigate the Lowell,IL area again. I think it is very promising, but only found large iron pyrite the last time I looked.
